MN Department of Agriculture Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Grant 

The Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Grant Program offers designated grants for businesses and organizations operating in the middle of the food supply chain in Minnesota. The purpose of the funding is to invest in infrastructure for aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distribution of locally and regionally produced food intended for human consumption, including specialty crops, dairy, grains, aquaculture, and other food products (except meat and poultry, which are funded through other programs).

SD Department of Agriculture Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Grant 

Program funding will unlock new market opportunities and facilitate important infrastructure projects for South Dakota agriculture. This is an exciting investment in food supply chain resilience and security, farm and food business market access, and value-added agriculture industry development.

The RFSI program will support middle of the supply chain projects that improve capacity for the aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distribution of locally and regionally produced food products.

Workshop Session Materials

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) presented to the technical assistance providers for the North Central Regional Food Business Centers in Minnesota at the bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 20th. The topics covered included funding opportunities with grants and loans for local food producers and processers. There was a time for questions and answers and links to resources for the technical assistance providers to share with the partners they work with in their area.

Akiptan presented General Tax Information for Native Agriculture Producers on October 27th, 2023. Mr. Robert (Rob) Holcomb, Extension Educator presents on general tax information to assist producers in understanding the tax process. Watch the recorded Zoom session here.

Amanda Olson –Child Nutrition Specialist – Farm to School Specialist with the ND Dept of Public Instruction gives an update on the Farm to School program in North Dakota and some of the results gathered from the listing sessions that were held across the state.
